현재 뉴질랜드에는 만명이상 되는 어린 아이들이 가정 폭력등 여러 다른 이유로 생부모와 살 수 없는 상황에 놓여있고 그렇기 때문에 짧게는 며칠에서 길게는 몇년까지 아동 보호 가정에서 생활하도록 되어 있습니다. 

그런 아이들이 안정이 보장된 보호 가정 (Foster family) 에서 자랄 수 있도록 많은 단체가 후원하고 목소리를 내고 있는데요, 그 중에서 어떻게 보면 가장 기본적이지만 중요한 일을 하고 있는 Foster Hope 라는 이 단체는 대체적으로 아이를 키우는 엄마들에 의해 운영되고 있습니다.

핵심사업은, 아이들이 보호가정으로 배정될 때 옷한벌 제대로 갖추지 못한 상태인 것이 대부분이라 가장 기본적인 옷, 가방, 세면도구등의 생필품을 팩키지로 만들어 보호 가정 단체에 기증하는 것입니다.

Contents of packs going to foster children
